Opera House demo reconsidered

Richwood Council is reconsidering its conversation about demolishing the Opera House.

At Monday evening’s regular council meeting, concerned locals and members of the Opera House Committee turned up to speak out against tearing down the building after the June 24 meeting in which council considered demolition.

Linda Hall with the Union County Historical Society said that there was quite a lot of comments on social media in response to the Marysville Journal Tribune article that covered the last council meeting.

She said there were 89 reactions to the facebook post, with 55 of those responding sadly and another 13 who expressed shock.
