Journal-Tribune staff up for record 13 state AP awards

The staff at the Marysville Journal-Tribune is up for a record-setting 13 honors in the Ohio Associated Press newspaper awards later this month.

That number is five more than the newspaper’s previous best haul of eight awards, set last year.

“It’s not like we have one superstar winning everything,” managing editor Chad Williamson said. “When you look at the distribution, every member of the newsroom is represented, many in multiple categories.”

The actual placement of the awards, first through third place, will be revealed at an awards banquet in Columbus later in July.
