Lunch prices going up at NU

The North Union School Board approved an increase in the price of school lunches.

At the regular meeting on Monday, the board of education approved an increase in breakfast and lunch prices by $0.25 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Treasurer Scott Maruniak said they had previously received an audit from the state that the food service department had too much money and a spending plan was put together to spend down those reserves.

“That is no longer the case,” Maruniak said. “With the increases in food costs, unfortunately it dramatically went through our funds.”
