Diamond squads overcome Raiders

The North Union softball and baseball teams each used one big inning to earn victories at Benjamin Logan on Wednesday.

The Lady Cats scored seven runs in the third inning on their way to a 9-1 win.

Reese DeCamp pitched a two-hitter, struck out seven and walked four.

Rylee Fox, Kennedy Harrah Kale Keigley and Zoe Wedding each got two hits with Keigley hitting a double. Emma McElroy tripled and Ryleigh Rasey had a double.

North Union is now 12-13 overall.

In baseball action, the Wildcats tallied eight runs in fifth inning in defeating the Raiders 9-2.

They are now 11-7 on the season and have the most wins in a season since 2019 when North Union totaled 17 wins.

Mason Bright gave up just three hits from the pitching mound. He struck out seven and walked five.

Tyler Krebehenne had a single and triple and Landon Converse belted a double and drove in three runs. Evan Beery, John Hughes, Bright and Miles Marlette each singled.
