By Bob Putman, Richwood Gazette

North Union lost to Tecumseh last Wednesday at Springfield’s Victory Lanes.

It was the programs first match-play of the season.

“There were some first-match jitters,” NU head coach Matt Donohue said. “Overall, I think this was a good start to our season to set scores to try and beat each week.”

In the girls match, the Lady Cats lost 1993-2128. Montana Donohue led the Lady Cats with a two-game series of 194, which included a game of 194. Ryleigh Rasey finished at 328 and was followed by Lexi Bahan (320) and Olyvia Frisco (267). Bowling one game each were Emma McCaul (109) and Grace London (95).

The boys squad lost 1967-2581.

Logan Otten had the top series at 327 while Braden Rhodes notched a 325 series. Zach Howald had a 296 series and Wyatt Southward finished at 266. Chase Copas (97) and Lucas Tanner (67) each bowled one game. Rhodes had the top game at 199.
