Richwood Park might get pickleball courts

Richwood may soon be updating the tennis courts at the park.

Last week, at the regular village council meeting, the group voted to include updating the tennis courts at Richwood Park as part of the next capital grant requests.

Mayor Scott Jerew said the Richwood Park Trailblazers Group, which hosts various fundraisers each year to improve the park’s amenities, would head the project.

The goal would be to make the tennis courts into pickleball courts.

“Pickleball is going to be the way of the future,” he said. “I think it’s an opportunity, though the capital budget is no guarantee whatsoever.”
