Bailey named interim county commissioner

Shaun Bailey is stepping into the role of Union County commissioner a little early.

The county’s Republican Party chose Bailey Monday night as the person to fill Dave Lawrence’s vacant seat after the commissioner stepped down earlier this month citing health issues.

“The vote to appoint Commissioner- elect Shaun Bailey was a unanimous one for the committee, and we are confident Shaun will serve this community well in his new role,” said Melissa Chase, chair of the Union County Republican Central Committee.
