UCHD pitches clinic at NU

Representatives with the Union County Health Department (UCHD) pitched a partnership with North Union that would bring a school-based healthcare clinic to the district.

At the regular meeting of the board of education on Monday, Health Commissioner Jason Orcena fielded questions from board members and presented information about what this potential partnership would look like.

“This is essentially a doctor’s practice…occurring within a school building itself, it becomes available to the entire school district,” Orcena said, adding that the scope of what all is provided is completely up to negotiations between UCHD and North Union. “It’s really about the school community providing and receiving care within the sch…
