Stopped train alert eyed

Liberty Township Trustees are on board with a proposed project involving monitoring a train crossing on Bear-Swamp Road.

Union County Administrator Bill Narducci said he has been in discussions over the last week with the trustees, the sheriff’s office and Trainfo, a company that tracks real-time information at railroad crossings and uses it to help minimize traffic disruptions by passing or stopped trains.

“The trustees are supportive of our recommendation to place that sensor on Bear-Swamp Road where we see the most stopped trains,” he said.
