NU boys baseball opens with victory over Fredericktown

North Union opened its baseball season with an 11-6 victory over Fredericktown on Saturday at Fredericktown

The Wildcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the third inning and then added four markers in the fifth to take an 11-2 lead.

North Union totaled 11 hits in the game.

Jace Phipps had a double and single while driving in four runs.

Jaxon Mabery, Dom Hainline and Peyton Davis each singled twice.

Greyson Bledsoe started for North Union, giving way to Mabery with one out in the third.

Davis came on in the sixth to finish off the win.

They combined to give up seven hits, walked four and struck out 10.

In a junior varsity contest played at North Union. Fredericktown downed the Wildcats 11-4.

Leading North Union were Charlie Colwell with a double.

Kody Park, Silas Cooper and Keegan Donohue each tallied a single.
