NU grapplers participate in St. Charles Nye Memorial Invitational

North Union finished fifth on Saturday in the Nye Invitational at Columbus St. Charles High School. The Wildcats totaled 78.5 points with Worthington Kilbourne winning the team title with 180 points. Jaystin Beeney (120-pound division) and Collin Welch (132) each finished second in their respective weight class. Beeney won four of his five matches and Welch went 2-1.

Mason Andrews (190) advanced to the consolation semifinals in going 3-2.

Winning matches but not placing were Jack Kemp (138), Brody Rote (144), Ben Bonnell (150), Corey Gilliam (157), Kingston Alvarado (175), Kory Ransome (190), Broden O’Reilly (215) and Jason Rankin (285).
