Lady Cat grapplers compete in girls tri-match at Benjamin Logan

North Union’s girls wrestling team went 1-1 during a tri-match at Benjamin Logan last Thursday.

With the postseason peeking around the corner, NU assistant coach Randal Riffle, who is overseeing the girls program, thinks the team is on the upswing in some areas.

“I think they did pretty good,” he said, adding the team is mostly made up of first- and second-year competitors. “They are getting better… I think we ought to be pretty solid when we get to sectionals.”

The Lady Cats lost their first dual meet to River Valley by a score of 48-18, but managed to claim a 30-24 win over Ben Logan.
