Wildcats place six grapplers at Bellefontaine’s Jimmy Mac Invite

North Union’s boys wrestling team competed this past weekend in the Jimmy Mac Invitational at Bellefontaine High School.
The Monarchs finished seventh with 112 points while the Wildcats were ninth with 97.5 points.
Celina won the team title with 317 points.
Marysville had eight wrestlers place while North Union placed sixth.
The Monarchs had a pair of second-place finishers, Vinny Goodman in the 175-pound division and Kyle Dilback at 215.
Other placers were Aiden White (third, 157), Brayden Shuster (third, 150), Cole Clemans (eighth, 190), Connor Shasky (eighth, 106), Liam Parrish (fourth, 113) and Mason Shaw (fifth, 144).
Leading the way for North Union was Broden O’Reilly, who finished third in the 190-pound division.
Other placers were Jaystin Beeney (fifth, 120), Wyatt Stacklin (eighth, 126), Landon Lang (fifth, 132), Corey Gilliam (fifth, 165) and Noah Huddleston (fifth, 285).
NUMS hosts invite
North Union hosted 16 wrestling teams on Saturday in the North Union Middle School Invitational.
North Union had a pair of individual champions.
Gavin Jones won at 80 pounds and Kali Poling was first at 98.
Other placers for the Wildcats were Henry Rowe (fourth, 86), Sutton Lowe (sixth, 92), Denver Creamans (fifth, 104), Jason McCoy (third, 122), Jayden Rinehart (sixth, 128), Kyle Smith (fifth, 150) and Austin Beeney (third, 245).
