Farmers market sees growth in sponsorships

The Richwood Farmers Market saw an exponential increase in sponsorship funding as it heads into 2026 on a high note.

At the regular meeting of village council on Monday, Shauna Chapman, manager of the Richwood Farmers Market, gave a year-end report and provided examples of its growth by the numbers.

“From last year we had like $715 in sponsors, this year we had over $3,000,” Chapman said, adding that grants were also a part of that total. “So things are growing. The goal is to continue to grow the sponsorship so we can (become) self-sustaining.”

The market saw an average customer count of 99 people this year. Chapman explained that getting information up online and switching to an all-electronic …
