NU volleyball season ends with four-set battle to Fairbanks during district semifinal

North Union got off to a great start last week in its Division V Central District semifinal at Fairbanks.
The Lady Cats put together a seven-point run that ultimately led to a first-set 25-12 victory.
However, they could not match that effort over the next three sets, losing 17-25, 17-25, 23-25 to the Lady Panthers.
“In the first set we played with a lot of confidence and we played well together,” North Union Head Coach Alexis Maenz said. “We got close to that in the fourth set, but a couple of bounces didn’t go our way and Fairbanks gained some momentum.”
