Lady Cats defeat Columbus Academy in four set match

Playoff matchups often mean two things… survive and advance.

That is what North Union’s volleyball program accomplished last Tuesday night against Columbus Academy (1211) during the first round of Division V postseason play.

The eighth-seeded Lady Cats bounced back to win the match in four sets 25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-11 over the No. 10 Vikings.

“We are happy to move on,” NU Head Coach Alexis Maenz said. “It’s tournament time so it’s one team to win at the end of the night.

“It is good to be a team that’s coming back tomorrow for another day,” she said.
