NU’s win over Northwestern puts program in reach of CBC Mad River Division title

North Union kept its hopes of a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River Division football title alive on Friday with a 28-20 victory over Northwestern on the Warriors’ home turf.

The victory upped the Wildcats’ overall record to 5-3 and 2-1 in the CBC. They are one game back of Graham and Indian Lake with two weeks remaining in the regular season.

It got a little uneasy for North Union late in the fourth quarter as Northwestern scored a touchdown and trailed 28-20 with two minutes remaining on the clock.

The Wildcats were able to recover the ensuing onside kick at midfield.
