From Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:

Sept. 30

At 12:32 a.m., a Union County deputy met with a Marion County deputy to take custody of Leah M. Gooden, 42, of Marion, for an outstanding arrest warrant and then transported her to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

A deputy went to the Madison Correctional Institution to take custody of Tommy A. Cantrell, 45, of Marion, for an outstanding arrest warrant at 11:14 a.m. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

Seth J. Baker, 21, of Richwood, was arrested and charged with domestic violence following deputies and units from the Northern Union County Fire Department responding to a home in the 32000 block of Water Street in Essex at 6:40 p.m., for a domestic incident between a mother and son. Baker was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and a report was taken.

Oct. 1

A deputy went to the Multi-County Jail to take custody of Phillip M. Simpson, 34, of Marion, at 9:38 a.m. on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

A deputy investigated a protection order violation at 4:40 p.m. that occurred at a business in the 18000 block of Route 4. A report was taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on South Main Street in Magnetic Springs at 5:04 p.m. to investigate the unauthorized use of a 2006 GMC Canyon. A report was taken.

Deputies and units from the Northern Union County Joint Fire District were dispatched to a residence in the 10000 block of Route 47 at 8:50 p.m. to investigate a dispute between family members. No report was taken.

Oct. 2

At 7:11p.m., a deputy assisted an officer from the Richwood Police Department with investigating a domestic dispute.

Oct. 3

A deputy was sent to a residence in the 24000 block of Claibourne Road at 12:40 p.m. to investigate passing a bad check for the purchase of livestock. A report was taken.

Oct. 5

Deputies and units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Northwestern Joint Fire District responded to Route 347 near Storms Road at 8:58 a.m., Monday, to investigate an injury crash involving a 2007 GMC Sierra that struck a fence. No report was taken.

A driver was transported to Grant Medical Center via MedFlight following an injury crash on Route 47 near Zook Road. At 12:25 p.m., Monday, a 2018 Ford Explorer swerved to avoid hitting a deer and instead struck a tree. Units from the Northern Union County Joint Fire and EMS District responded alongside deputies to the scene. A crash report was taken.

A deputy met with a Marion police officer to take custody of David L. Laughrey, 46, of Marion, on an outstanding arrest warrant at 4:58 p.m., Monday. The male was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and a report was taken.
