Wildcats place third in William B. Saxbe cross country invitational

The North Union boys cross country team finished third last Saturday in the Mechanicsburg William B. Saxbe Invitational, finishing with 84 points.
Canal Winchester earned first place with 48 points.
The Wildcats had two runners finish in the top ten.
Ben Bonnell was seventh in the time of 17 minutes, 29.4 seconds and Felix Plouck was eighth at 17:29.6.
Also running were Jack Hoover (17th, 18:32.3), Mack Marlette (27th, 19:27.0), Colton Smith (39th, 20:21.3), Drew Chadwell (60th, 21:43.9) and Philip Ardrey (69th, 22:43.2).
Kailin McElroy finished eighth in the girls race with a time of 20:31.5.
Also running was Josie Held, who finished 44th in the time of 27:03.9.
Middle school race
North Union did not have enough runners to field a complete team in the middle school, but the Wildcats’ Joseph Wiley finished first overall with a time of 11:21.7.
Layney Wilds had a top five spot for the Lady Cats, finishing fourth in the girls race in the time of 13:42.3.
