NU spikers drop conference match

There was a lot of backand- forth at North Union as the Lady Cats battled Bellefontaine in a five-set volleyball match.

When everything was settled, it was the Chieftains who finally prevailed with a hard-fought victory by scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-11.

It was only the second time this year Bellefontaine (13-3) was extended to a fifth set, while North Union (10-6) reached a fifth set for the fourth time.

“The loss is definitely a tough one, but we battled regardless of what the score was the entire way,” North Union Head Coach Alexis Maenz said. “That is something we can hang our hat on.”
