NU runners finish runner-up

The North Union boys cross country team finished second in the Ridgedale Invitational on Tuesday.

Leading the Wildcats was Ben Bonnell, who finished third overall in the time of 17 minutes, 15 seconds.

He was followed by Mack Marlette (ninth, 18:57), Jack Hoover (12th, 19:22), Felix Plouck (16th, 20:16), Colton Smith (17th, 20:26), Zach Meyer (19th, 21:30), Philip Ardrery (23rd, 22:56) anmd Wyatt Roby (27th, 28:46).

Kailin McElroy finished second in the girls race in the time of 20:46. She was the lone Lady Cat runner in the race.

Joseph Wiley set a school record in winning the middle school race with a time of 11:04.

Tristan Sonodsa was fifth (12:57), Drake Smith was 16th (15:35) and Kyle Stacklin was 17th (16:32).

Finishing in the top ten in the girls race were Layney Wilds (fourth, 13:45) and Harper Vogelsang (ninth, 15:44).

Leah Conrad was 13th with a time of 19:45.
