Ridgeway honored at NU football home game

By Bob Putman

Recently North Union High School honored Donny Ridgeway for his long-time effort and sacrifice to the Richwood community and the North Union school district. Ridgeway, a 1968 graduate of North Union, has been part of the North Union Athletic Boosters for more than 40 years and was booster president for 35 years. Also during that time, he was part of the North Union Athletic Committee, which has assisted in providing Wildcat athletes with equipment and other financial needs. Ridgeway is an inductee of the North Union Hall of Pride. When he was not helping out with the athletic programs, Ridgeway, who is a United States Army veteran, worked at Eaton Corporation, a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a firefighter for the Northern Union County Fire Department and a Richwood Village councilman. Pictured with Ridgeway are North Union athletic director Nick Hajjar, left, and North Union High School principal Keith Conklin, right.
