Sheriff’s office offers Citizen’s Academy

The Union County Sheriff’s Office is inviting the public to apply for the 2025 Citizen’s Academy, an 8-week course that allows citizens the opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office.

Hosted by the office’s community relations bureau, the Citizen Academy begins on Sept. 8, 2025 and runs until Oct. 27 on Monday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. free of charge. Classes are held at the sheriff’s office, 221 W. Fifth St., Marysville.

The academy is not intended to make citizens into law enforcement officers, rather to allow citizens to learn more about the procedures of the Sheriff’s Office. Citizens will learn about the actual r…
