Pair of NU runners place high in Baron Blast meet

North Union competed in the Baron Blast cross country meet on Saturday at Buckeye Valley and had two runners place in the top five.
Kailin McElroy finished fourth in the girls race with a time of 20 minutes and 49.84 seconds.
The Lady Cats did not have enough runners to field a complete team.
Also running were Josie Held (52nd, 27:02.08) and Allana Smith (60th, 27:47.34).
In the boys race, Felix Plouck finished fifth with a time of 17:42.96.
North Union finished fifth overall with 132 points.
Other runners that scored for the Wildcats were Ben Bonnell (14th, 18:24.95), Mack Marlette (35th, 19:37.20), Jack Hoover (45th, 20:11.46) and Zachary Meyer (52nd, 20:34.96).
Also running were Colton Smith (63rd, 21:01.71), Max Leavitt (91st, 23.27.72), Phillip Ardrey (99th, 24:45.71), Drew Chadwell (102nd, 25:31.72) and Wyatt Roby (105th, 26:02.73).
In the middle school meet North Union did not have enough runners to field a complete team but did have an individual champion in the boys race.
Joseph Wiley led the field with a winning time of 11:40.83.
Also running were Kyle Stacklin (38th, 15:37.58) and Drake Smith (40th, 15:39.83).
Harper Vogelsang earned a sixth-place finish in the girls race with a time of 14:41.51 while Leah Conrad was 44th in the time of 21:31.25).
