It was a night of a lot of extra sessions as North Union hosted Highland in non-league volleyball contest.

The junior varsity match was extended to three sets, with the Lady Cats winning 23-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Taking a cue from the earlier game, the varsity match went a full five sets and was full of back-andforth action the entire way.

When everything settled, it was North Union that prevailed, defeating the Lady Scots 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 21-25, 16-14.

“It was a great effort of overcoming some things and finishing out on top,” North Union Head Coach Alexis Maenz said. “The effort and intensity was great. We grew a little bit and that is the battle of each game.”
