NU linksmen sharpen skills during Heart of Ohio events

The high school golf season is just about two weeks from getting started.

However, dozens of golfers have spent their summer getting ready by competing in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament schedule.

Begun in 1987, the HOJGA was organized by a group of Marion County business owners that recognized a need for a junior golf program.

Now in its 39th year, HOJGA serves a seven- county area that includes Union County along with Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow and Wyandot and is open to junior golfers aged 9 through 18.

Last Thursday, the HOJGA held its sixth tournament of the season at Kings Mills Golf Club, located near Waldo.
