NUMS athletes compete in CBC championship meet

North Union Middle School competed on May 12 in the Central Buckeye Conference championships at Kenton Ridge High School.

The boys team finished sixth overall with 41 points.

It did have a pair of firstplace finishers. Joseph Wiley won the 1600 with a time of 5:04.29 while Luke Mask won the shot put with a toss of 43 feet, 2.5 inches.

Wiley also had a thirdplace finish in the 800 in the time of 2:20.41.

The girls team finished fifth with final point count of 45.

The Lady Cats did not have an individual champion but Kellyn Ufferman finished second in the shot put at 33-6 and the 4×800 team of Chloe McElroy, Layney Wilds, Ufferman and Tinlee Martino was third with …
