North Union softball squad falls short in Division V title game to Fairbanks

The North Union softball comeback tour came to an end last Friday.

After finishing the regular season with an 11-13 record, the Lady Cats came into the Division V Central District tournament as the ninth seed.

In its first two tournament games North Union defeated Fredericktown, the third seed, 5-2 and Northmor, the sixth seed, 13-0.

But the Lady Cats could not make it three straight wins as they lost 8-3 to second-seeded Fairbanks at Marysville High School.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Berne Union High School.
