Lady Cats take third in district meet; athletes qualify for regional track meet

North Union has been developing depth for its girls track team.

Those efforts are now paying dividends. One week after winning the Mad River title in the Central Buckeye Conference, the Lady Cats posted a third-place finish in Central District Division II champions on Saturday at River Valley High School.

Both are the best finishes they have had since Cole Krawczyk took over as head coach.

North Union finished with 82.5 points, while Jonathan Alder claimed the team title with 125 points.

“The goal is to survive and advance each week and the girls have taken it to heart,” Krawczyk said. “All of them have stepped it up for us.”
