Lady Cats keep postseason hopes alive with win over sixth-seeded Northmor
When you have the kind of regular season that North Union softball went through, it is especially gratifying to have some success during the post-season tournament.
That is exactly what the Lady Cats are experiencing in the Central District tournament.
North Union finished with an 11-13 record during the regular season, but for the second game in a row it took the field against a team with a better seed than it had.
The Lady Cats were seeded ninth and they opened tournament play with a 5-2 win over third-seeded Feredericktown.
On Monday, they once again took to the road for district semifinal at Northmor, which was seeded sixth.
