Lady Cats snap losing streak with win over Buckeye Valley

The North Union softball team finished up a busy week last Saturday with a 6-1 win at Buckeye Valley.

The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Lady Cats (6-6).

North Union took the early lead by scoring two runs in the first inning. It then added single markers in the third and fourth innings and finished with a two-run fifth inning.

Buckeye Valley’s lone run came in the sixth inning.

Kailin McElroy and Leah Cox each had three hits for North Union while Emma McElroy and Brenna Martino each had two hits.

Driving in one run each were Rylee Fox, Kailin McElroy, Emma McElroy, Cox and Martino.

In other action last week, the Lady Cats lost twice to Benjamin Logan, 10-9, London, 10-0 and Tecumseh, 9-6.

Kale Keigley and Emma McElroy each had two hits against Benjamin Logan with McElroy driving in three runs.

Keigley had a single for the lone hit by the Lady Cats against London.

Kailin McElroy totaled three hits, all singles, against Tecumseh while Kennedy belted a single and triple. Cox and Keigley each doubled and singled and Sierra Farrington and Hazlee Hall each had a double. Cox drove in three runs.
