Wildcats fall to visiting Liberty Union in Division V sectional tourney matchup

A fourth-quarter run of points by Liberty Union proved to be too much for North Union to overcome Saturday in Division V sectional tournament play at North Union.

The two teams went into the game evenly matched. North Union was the seventh seed and had a record of 12-10, while Liberty Union was seeded eighth and had split its 22 regular- season games.

That parity continued into the fourth quarter as the largest difference between them was seven points.

The Lions, however, went on a 17-8 run during a five-minute span of the final stanza that gained them a 62-54 victory.
