Central District high school basketball teams learned who they will be playing in post-season play on Sunday as state-wide seeding meeting were held.

This is the second year ranking the teams was not done by the coaches as teams are ranked by MaxPreps Ratings Percentage Index.

Another change from previous years was the inclusion have more divisions.

For the first time there are seven divisions, three more than last year.

The Lady Cats (18-2) were seeded second, barely beaten out for the top seed by Johnstown, in Division V.

They will play Northmor (6-13), the 19th seed, in a sectional final at North Union on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

North Union was in Division II last year and NU Head Coach Mitchell Loomis knows just because there are more divisions there is no easy path to a district title.

“You still have to beat good competition along the way regardless of your spot in the tournament,” he said.
