Honda gets nimble on production lines

Honda is focusing on flexibility as it transitions its production line to handle all versions of the internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid and electric vehicles (EV).

The company recently opened its doors to show what it’s calling the Honda EV Hub at the Marysville Auto Plant (MAP) and how it’s investing over $1 billion to allow the auto manufacturer to build the car models on the same production line. That’s an increase from the company’s initial pledge of $700 million in 2022.

What is done at the MAP will serve as a foundation for other plants around the country to switch production possibilities.
