Traffic stop leads to cocaine bust, charges for Marion man

A Marion man is facing multiple first-degree felony charges after a traffic stop netted nearly 60 grams of cocaine.

The Union County Grand jury has indicted Deaudrick Joseph Volney, charging him with one count each of possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine.

According to court documents, on Sept. 11, a deputy stopped a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu for improperly displaying the validation stickers.

During the traffic stop, the deputy “observed criminal indicators” from Volney, who was a passenger, and from the driver.
