Lady Cats claim first win against Harding, fall to River Valley and Indian Lake
The final count showed a 3-1 victory for River Valley.
But North Union put together a solid effort in the non-league girls soccer match last week at River Valley.
“It was a great performance,” NU Head Coach Bill LeRoy said of the Lady Cats play against the Lady Vikings.
North Union got the early lead on a goal by Allison Stacklin just over the 23-minute mark of the first half.
Stacklin sent a high center shot from approximately 25 yards that soared over the goal keeper.
But River Valley tied the match about four minutes later as congestion in front of the goal led to close-range score by Marinn McGuire.
