Area News – Marysville City council turns eye to 2025 budget requests

At this week’s city council meeting, finance committee and council member Henk Berbee said city officials are “already beginning to move into the 2025 budget.”

“Lets be proactive,” Berbee said, reminding council members they are being asked to bring specific budget requests to the clerk of council by Aug. 17, so it can be included in discussions, “rather than wait until the budget is presented and then they bring things up and have to have something cut out.” The finance committee will be reviewing financial policies used in drafting the budget at its August meeting and will review the draft budget at the October meeting.
