Youth grapplers compete in North Union JV Invite

North Union hosted six other schools on Friday for the North Union JV Invitational.

Dublin Coffman, Dublin Jerome, Hilliard Bradley, Jonathan Alder, Columbus Academy and Delaware Christian joined the Wildcats on the mats.

Wrestlers were divided into pools and no team scores were kept.

Leading North Union was Kadrin Riffle and AJ Leeson.

Riffle won all three of his matches in the 144-pound division, all by pin.

Leeson, competing at 157, went 2-0 with one victory coming by pin.

Kingston Alavarado (138) went 2-1 with two pins while Peyton Wood (165) also was 2-1 with two pins.

Winning one match each were Landon Long (126) and Braylen Riffle (132).

In the North Union Middle School Invitational held on Saturday, North Union finished third out of 16 teams.

Wyatt Stacklin earned a first-place finish while Jaystin Beeney and Braden O’Reilly each finished second.

Other placers for the Wildcats were Bradley Cline (third). Brody Role (fourth), Luke Brown (fifth), Noah Huddleston (fifth), Kory Ransome (fifth), Kylynn Thompson (sixth) and Jaxon Mabery (sixth).
