NU seeks to improve with returing cast of grapplers

North Union will open the 2023-24 wrestling season with a large group of returnees, including several who competed in last year’s district tournament.

“We have a lot of experienced wrestlers returning and they are eager to improve on last year’s performance,” said Head Coach Garret Andrews, who will begin his 16th year as a head coach.

Andrews welcomed back 10 wrestlers with varsity experience.

Seniors Zack Ellis, Austin Cline and Tyler Cline along with sophomores Kannan Alvarado and Heath Ferguson each were district qualifiers last year.

Ellis will be competing at either 120 or 126 pounds, Austin Cline will compete…
