George Ann (Retterer)Charles

 

George Ann (Retterer) Charles, 95 of Richwood, passed away on May 18, 2023, in her home. She was born in West Mansfield on August 9, 1927, to the late George Benjamin and Arthelma Ruth (Fout) Retterer. She was married to Cecil Sherman Charles, son of Cecil Stephen and Martha Gladys (Lavender) Charles on May 21, 1944. George Ann graduated from Richwood High School in 1944, completing her requirements a year early so she could accompany Cecil when he left for army training during WWII. Cecil preceded her death on December 7, 1986. They celebrated forty-two years of marriage together.

George Ann is survived by two children: Bruce Cabot (Rebecca Jane Shade) Charles of Marysville and Mary Ann (Michael Shane) Sager of LaRue. She has eight grandchildre…
