Wildcat boys, girls runners place second during annual North Union Invitational

Fairbanks and North Union cross country teams battled down to the wire in both the girls and boys meet on Saturday during the North Union Invitational at the Richwood Fairgrounds.

The Panthers and the Wildcats each scored 49 points with their first five runners in the boys meet.

Fairbanks had a sixth runner, while North Union did not have an extra runner, giving the Panthers the team title.

Placing two runners in the top three and a third in the top 11 led Fairbanks to the girls title.

The Lady Panthers totaled 37 points, while the Lady Cats finished with 48 points.
