Lady Cat spikers split two recent matches

In four of the five volleyball sets played Thursday night between North Union and Indian Lake, the action was tightly contested.

The one set, which was the fourth one, pretty much belonged to Indian Lake and ultimately that proved to be the difference that earned the Lakers a 24-26, 27-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-9 victory.

“It was really a tough battle between two good teams and it just did not go our way,” North Union head coach Alexis Maenz said. “Five-set losses are always tough to take, but our girls battled and they can’t hang their heads.”

There was very little margin of difference in the first three sets.
