County won’t lose in gas tax pause

Any impact from the state’s gas tax holiday will be reimbursed back to local funds.
Union County Administrator Bill Narducci said the measure shouldn’t negatively impact local dollars, even if some of the county’s gas tax revenue dis- a p pears.
“Our understanding is that the loss of revenue from the suspension of the gas tax will be fully reimbursed back to the state and local governments that receive gas tax revenue,” he said. “The mechanics of how that will happen are not known at this time, but I understand that the state is utilizing general fund surplus to fill that gap.”
