North Union rallied to earn a five-set volleyball victory over Bellefontaine on Monday at North Union.
After winning the first set 27-25, North Union dropped the next two sets 15-25 and 19-25.
However, in a dramatic switch the Lady Cats were dominant in the next two sets, winning by scores of 25-9 and 15-10.
“The girls really came out with the fire in the fourth and fifth sets and showed their ‘want to win,”’ North Union head coach Alexis Maenz said.
Before the start of the fourth set, Maenz said the message to her team was to play how the coach knew it could.
“The big thing was we wanted them to play with the intensity that we expect and they got to that,” she said. “It really was good all-around team effort.”
The Lady Cats (7-9) had some really good moments from the service line as they totaled 16 aces.
Emmy Eastman and Glory Blevins each had four, Kellyn Ufferman added three and Madison Green had two.
Katelyn Zimmerman notched 20 kills and three blocks and Ufferman dished out 50 assists.
