Police Beat
From Richwood Division of Police reports:
Sept. 6
An officer responded to the Richwood Fairgrounds at 2:16 a.m. for a report of teens being loud and knocking on camper doors. Upon arrival and search of the area, the teens left the area.
In the 100 block of East Ottawa Street at 8:11 a.m., an officer responded to a dispute over reckless driving. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with both parties and a warning was issued for the reckless driving.
Police were dispatched to the 30 block of George Street at 8:17 a.m. for as reported trespassing. The person who trespassed was given a warning.
At the Richwood Fairgrounds, officers responded to multiple reports in the evening. At 7:24 p.m., an officer reunited parents with their lost child; at 7:44 p.m., an officer responded to trespassing and escorted the trespasser off the property; at 8:07 p.m., and a dispute over property was settled with no charges filed and at 9:56 p.m. an officer helped settle a dispute between juveniles and a ride operator.
Sept. 7
In the 200 block of Race Street at 2:48 p.m., an officer responded for suspicious circumstances involving a book-bag that was left in the middle of the road. Upon arrival, the bag had already been picked up.
Police were sent to the 100 block of South Fulton Street at 5:44 p.m. for a report of damage caused to a window of a vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined that the damage was accidental.
Sept. 8
An officer responded to a report of telecommunications harassment at 9:05 a.m. in the 300 block of East Blagrove Street. Both parties involved were told to not have contact with each other.
A well-being check was made in the 200 block of Grove Street at 10:47 a.m. and the individuals involved said that they were alright.
Samuel Lee, 26, of Richwood, was arrested for burglary in the 300 block of East Blagrove Street and was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Michael Walton, 30, of Richwood, was cited for speeding and driving on a suspended license while driving in the 100 block of Beatty Avenue at 2:43 p.m.
An officer responded on station for a civil standby request while custody was exchanged at 5:48 p.m.
A well-being check was made in the 100 block of Pearl Street at 7:43 p.m. and the individual said that they were alright.
Sept. 9
Police responded to the 10 block of South Fulton Street at 11:57 a.m. for a report of an injury crash. Upon arrival, it was found that no crash had occurred and a cell phone was dropped off a roof.
Sept. 10
In the 200 block of North Franklin Street at 4:17 p.m., an officer responded for a report of reckless driving and did not find any vehicle matching the given description.
An officer responded on station for a civil standby request while custody was exchanged at 6:04 p.m.
Sept. 11
An officer was requested for a civil standby at the police station while custody was exchanged at 6:09 p.m.
Sept. 12
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Ottawa Street at 1:23 a.m. for a report of an unruly juvenile. Upon arrival, the juvenile was spoken with and told to obey their parents.
