Open doors offers look at U.C. history

Union County residents will have several opportunities to get a look behind the scenes at local historic sites this week as part of the statewide Ohio Open Doors program.
Union County is participating in the Ohio History Connection’s biennial Ohio Open Doors event, which runs through Sept. 20 and gives visitors free access to historic buildings, landmarks and other sites across the state.
Locally, events will include tours of the Union County Records Center and Archives, St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Doellinger-Geer Log Cabin, as well as a special exhibit at the Union County Historical Society.
