Union County Health Department adopts new AI policy
In a move to keep up with the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI), the Union County Health Department (UCHD) has adopted its own AI-use policy.
At the UCHD’s Board of Health’s most recent meeting, the board unanimously approved a policy to set guidelines for how AI is used in the department. The policy will go into effect on June 1.
“It’s a critical tool that could go horribly wrong,” said Health Commissioner Jason Orcena. “You have to pay attention to what you’re doing with it.”
