NU expansion project sees high bids
The art room expansion at North Union High School has hit a roadblock after bids came in well over budget.
Brian Wolf, the architect from Garmann Miller working on the project, spoke to the board of education during a recent meeting and said the bids for the expansion work “weren’t favorable.”
“ We’re going to be working through it, we are going to do everything that we can to get it to where it can fit in the budget, and if it flat out can’t we’re going to let you know that as well,” Wolf said.
He explained that the budgeted cost for the new addition came in at just over $404 per square foot and then $200,000 was allocated for the renovation.
