Lawrence to leave commissioner’s position early

One of the Union County Commissioners is stepping down next month, leaving an open seat for officials to fill heading into the summer.

The board recently announced that Commissioner Dave Lawrence is stepping down effective June 6, citing health reasons for his departure. Lawrence’s term would have ended at the end of this year.

County Administrator Bill Narducci said filling the vacancy in the meantime will be up to the Union County Republican Central Committee.
