Lady Cats make quick work of Worthington Christian in opening game of state tournament

The next chapter of the 2026 North Union softball season began on Thursday.

A few days after winning their first Central Buckeye Conference title since 2022, the Lady Cats opened Central District Division V tournament play.

The opening line showed North Union (20-6), the fourth seed, reaching a district semifinal following a 15-0 win at home over 13thseeded Worthington Christian (6-18).

“Our first goal was to win a league title,” NU head coach Dawn Draper said. “After that was to try to get to 20 wins and we did that in this tournament game.”

The Lady Cats now will face third-seeded Centerburg on Monday in a district…
